I am here to announce that i have coded a completely new sound engine in Dangerous Rays. Based on FMOD technology used for example in the Cry Engine 3, this new sound engine will provide some great new audio capabilities for Dangerous Rays compared to the old sound engine.
So instead of a long description let me just do a list of new features that i have programmed for the Alpha 15 version and the planned ones.
NEW IN ALPHA 15:
– Added 5.1 and 7.1 speakers support
– Fixed some hardware compatibility issues
– Fixed low volume sound issues
– Improved 3D sound spatialization
– Improved sound processing performances
– Improved sound loading speed
– Added .mp3 and .wma sound format support
PLANNED IN THE FUTURE:
– DSP Effects (Echo, Distorsion…)
– Dynamic sound occlusion
– Advanced dynamic reverb
– Sound recording capability
